strangers

yep.
now i've got a lot of time to blog.
finished my report, not done my testimonial, got alot to learn on html and php.
oh well.
heck them.

i was in the lift in white sands with a couple pushing a pram with their little boy toddler.
at the next floor, another couple came in, with another pram, parked next to each other, this time, a little girl.

apparantly the families didnt know each other, but the little girl leaned forward and shook the boy's hand, making gurgling noises and laughing happily.
the little boy responded and flashed his cheeky grin.
yep. two strangers, toddlers, making friends.

i thought that was really sweet.

and you know what?
it brought a smile to everyone in the same lift.
strangers smiled at each other with a twinkle in their eye.

i like that warmth that melted the coldest corners of our hearts.

and i still feel it.

Bookworm

truth is, i've always wanted a library. yea. like those in the old english movies, with brown wooden shelves so tall you'll need a ladder, and endless supplies of books in thick solid hard cover.

and a long long table in my library, and seats with cushions. just for me to drown in the books.

and a sweet little fireplace by the table.

*slap slap*

ok. back to reality.

no, i dont like the public library.
i cant seem to find the books i want, the comics are always out, and its always too noisy to read. not to mention - it's cold!!

which is also the reason why i always buy my books. i like my little collection even though i'm running out of places to store them, and most importantly, i like the feel of the fresh unopened pages.

ooh.. so i am a nerd.
heyheyhey...!!! miss mi ma??? haven been blogging here for some time...
aniwae, felt like writing sth hahaha....
kkiez see you people tomorrow ya!!!

peace

it's raining outside.

the truth is, sometimes i cant help but admit how pretty the rain is. it's like this peaceful sound tapping against my window.. and the streets are so quiet.

that is, until i'm stupid enough to switch on CNN and see grotesque images coupled with explosions and gunshots.

this world works on an amazingly simple mechanism. when there's an external threat, we join forces against others.. or we die.
and when that external threat is eliminated, we start killing each other. and we die anyway.
no idea what i'm talking about? say nuclear for the first example, and world summit treaties for the second.

still dont?
it's time for you to read the papers.

take a look at these super powers.. "every man for himself" magnified into a joke and lesson for every soul that roam the streets of earth.

you think office politics is scary?
i think men who commands soldiers with near worthless lives, men who are able to launch weapons by merely pressing buttons, men who say a word and start a chaos.
yup.. these people are scary.

Politicians

Politicians tell me they are the voices of the people.

I hear no such voice.

"Our people", they claim, as if they are one of us.

I don't think so.

Sure, some politicians are part of us. People like Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Mr Teo Chee Hean, etc, yes i think they are part of us, speaking up for the people.

I'm not sure politicians these days are what they claim to be anymore.

Petrol prices are more of an excuse than a reason these days.
For one, I didnt get the progress package, and I think i bear the damn fare hikes in cabs more than anyone of them does. I suspect, of course, that bus fares will go up soon.

But no, COE prices are plunging, arent they?

Go! Employers, big bosses, rich men, tai-tais, go sit in your big cars and watch the income gaps widen.

And ban the voices of the people.

Yes, i'm talking about the Mr Brown issue.

Ar, no, you let them speak, and then send someone with great language skills to tackle every sentence in the blog/ column/ email.. whatever..

The last time I remembered, the press is controlled.

Subtletly, at least.

I think everyone ought to be given a chance to speak, whether it's fair or not, it's up to the reader to judge. Politicians are not lawyers, you dont have to be so defiant and jump at every comment made about the policies.

Are we kids that have no brains to think for ourselves such that we need the government to filter every single word that we read? every idea that we have?

Other countries are probably thinking..
how do we survive it? To them we're like this group of well-fed people with no wants. the "well-fed" part is good. considering that our thoughtful government helps us save through CPF, it's really hard to starve to death.

It's nice, it's safe, it's everything anyone can ask for.

Dont get me wrong. I love my country, which is the reason why i'm trying to make it a better place to live it.

That's it.
i'm joining politics.
For one, i doubt politicians suffer pay cuts.
yes.

it's my fault.

why am i screwing up so often these days?

sigh.

maybe if you should treat me like i'm invisible.
